sometimes (as in "always"), there are things you cannot change. these are the big things, the important ones. the small ones, like having yet another beer, or giving a smile to someone totally not deserving it, you can. and those are the ones that can turn around the others mentioned first. actually, i am not talking from experience here. but out of hope. let's see where that will take us...
